Infant Baptism

Dear Parents:

Our Religious Education program has an excellent team of catechists who will share with you their faith emphasizing the Sacrament of Baptism in the Catholic church. Together, we will experience great joy when your child receives the Sacrament of Baptism!

Parents and Godparents are required to attend the “Baptismal Preparation Class.” Participation in this class is a prerequisite in order to baptize your child. At the Baptismal Preparation Class, you will receive a certificate of attendance which will be valid for two years.

A document named "RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF STUDENTS IN PARISH FAITH FORMATION PROGRAMS" must be signed by parents married only civilly, single parents, or cohabiting parents; both parents must sign this consent form required by the archdiocese for the reception of the sacrament of baptism.

Our program has monthly preparation classes. On this website you will be able to find the Baptismal Calendar for detailed information for Baptismal classes and Sacrament of Baptism dates in both languages, English and Spanish.

Registration for the Pre-Baptismal class is held during the first week of each month; Baptism application must be at least three months in advance.

ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO ATTEND THE PRE-BAPTISMAL CLASS

  • To confirm your selected date all requirements for child, parent and godparents must be completed.
  • You will receive a notification letter with the approved date via email.

DO NOT SEND INVITATIONS UNTIL SELECTED BAPTISM DATE HAS BEEN APPROVED

Pre-Baptismal Preparation Classes

The Infant Baptism Program is supported by parental contributions in order to offset operating costs. The preparation classes contribution is $100.00 per family (1-4 people). These contributions are greatly valued and must be paid in full when you submit your application.

Baptism Ceremony

Our parish offers only Communal Baptism ceremonies. The ceremony is usually between three to six children. The Contribution of $100.00, must be paid in full before baptism date.

Documents required for completing application

Provide a copy of the following documents:

CHILD: Birth Certificate (child to be baptized)
PARENTS: Baptism certificate (from one of the parents)

WHEN SELECTING A GODPARENT:

“A sponsor needs to be at least sixteen or older, have been confirmed, participate in the blessed Eucharist and live a life of faith. The sponsor CANNOT be the mother or the father”
[C.C.L.874]

You must consider if this person is in fact living the Catholic faith; he/she will be a very special person in your child's Christian life. He/she will be someone meaningful for your child in sharing their love for God. No other denomination of faith is accepted.

GODPARENTS

Provide a copy of each of the following documents for registration:

  • Baptism Certificate
