Message from Father Flavio Montes / Mensaje del Padre Flavio Montes
Wednesday, May 5, 2021
The 2020-2021 Pastoral Year at our Community of Faith of Our Lady of the Lakes ended amidst our parish living through a pandemic. To say that this has been a year full of challenges and blessings would be an understatement. Despite all the difficulties this pandemic has posed for us all, and as our parish continues to follow all the safety protocols established in the Archdiocese, we have resumed with our group meetings and religious education. Our parochial school is thriving and continues to do a great job.
I am thankful for all our wonderful leaders who have shown their zeal and creativity in keeping us functioning and safe. To that end, I say thank you, thank you, thank you and Praise Be to Jesus Christ!
I kindly ask you to continue to support all our ministries with your time, talent and treasure. Our weekly offertory has seen an increase in online giving and I really appreciate your response to our pleas but our “cash in the basket” has decreased mainly because many of our parishioners are unable to attend weekly mass due to COVID-19 concerns. Thanks again to all those who has graciously responded to the ABCD campaign.
I remain optimistic about our future and ask you all to continue to have hope and pray for an end to this scourge during our new fiscal year. You will be able to see some graphics that present in a simple way what our fiscal status is. Please remember that our ability to meet the needs of our large parish is primarily determined by Sunday contributions. That is the main source of income for our operating budget used to pay program expenses, fair salaries to our staff, and the same general costs you experience like utility costs, insurance, and repair expenses.
May God bless you always. And may God continue to bless our community of faith!
